Final Fantasy XIII

So I pre-ordered final Fantasy XII. I was going to be a good girl and wait for all the reviews first but they tempted me with a limited edition numbered hardcover guide book with all the game artwork in it.
So I couldn't resist. I went to the midnight release (I normally don't go to bed until around 3:00 I have a CRAZY sleep schedule) And put it away for the next day.
So I am about 5 hours into the game and I am enjoying it so far. The scenery is beautiful and the music is a very interesting mix of trance and classical. The voice acting is also spectacular and I love it. Usually in every game I play there is at least one character whose voice I absolutely hate but that is not the case here, I love them all. The battle system was really boring at first but as the game progressed it has become a lot more complex and fun to use. I am not sure of the skill upgrade system yet. I am not quite sure how to use it yet. I have upgraded every aspect of all the level one skill sets and it won't let me move onto level 2 skill sets. I don't know if this is just because I am stupid (always a possibility) or if the game just doesn't let you do it yet. I have heard complaints about the linear style of the game. There aren't many sidequest or areas to go off the beaten path. i actually don't mind it that much. I am an obsessive gamer and I play a game until I have finished every aspect of it. I still frequently pick of we <3 Katamari because I have not rolled up everything. SO the fact that there aren't as many sidequests means that I might actual do something else besides play the game this month.
The enemies are interesting too. They are all very cyberpunk and crazy looking.

The characters aren't my favorite so far They are okay but I don't have any burning love for them like my torrid love for Balthier from FFXII but I do quite like Sazh

He is awesome and has a frikin' chocobo chick in his afro. He is also not enthused with everything that is going on and freaks out and complains frequently.
I also quite like hope and I think it is because he is whiny and scared and doesn't look at the whole journey as an adventure. Also his mom was frikin' awesome! She shot down an airship with a rocket launcher :D

I wasn't quite sure of Oerba at first, she was quite cheery and annoying, but The story interludes are told in her voice and it adds another layer of depth and makes me curious to know more about her.

Snow currently does nothing for me, he is just sort of there and I have no feelings for him one way or the other. Maybe I will grow to like him but right now he is just ehh.

The first time I found out that one of the main characters name was lightning I immediately laughed . I have forgiven her for her stupid name because apparently it is not her real name, it is just a codename. I feel like I might be able to grow to like her but right now she is also just ehh.

I am going to try to finish up the game over spring break but considering the fact that I also have Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth and pokemon Souls silver is coming out next week there is no guarantee that i won't be distracted.
