So for Gallifrey one this year I decided I wanted to make a new costume, while talking with a friend who is going with me we discovered a mutual love of community so We both decided on Inspector Spacetime costumes.  So we decided on Geneva and The Inspector Respectively. Here is all of the reference pics I have found so far and a costuming update on what I have so far.

All of my screen caps cape from hulu so if anyone knows of a better source I would be really really happy!

So Let's Take a look at the dress itself.

The Dress drapes ina way that tells me it was made out of more than just one piece of fabric as it is much more full at the bottom.

A close up look at the fabric looks like it is a unique pattern of checks and design that you would probably be hard pressed to find anywhere (I Know I couldn't find it).

We can see the drape of the sleeve clearly here and see that its pleated.

Here we ca see the straps which make an infinity sort of sign as opposed to crossing. We also see that is is clearly a hand beaded trim. ( I couldn't find anything similar to it).

Lastly we have the props, the quantum spammer and her crown (Both of which I have o idea about as I am horrible with props)

And now onto what I did to replicate it!

Here are the fabrics I Bought to try to replicate the costume. As I Could find nothing like the fabric I decided to do a layered approach to get a similar look.

So the dark yellow is the very bottom layer so the dress isn't see through. The fabric with the dotted design is the middle layer to get the abstract design, and the yellow over the top is for the checked fabric.

To achieved the checked look I Taped off the fabric into checked and used fabric paint (Painted in three layers). So the first piece of fabric should be ready to take the tape off tonight so hopefully it comes out nicely. I still have another piece fo fabric to do after this. Not looking forward to doing all this over agin, it took quite a bit of time. (around 6  hours.) The painting was annoying because i mentioned I had to do it in layers and i had to wait four hours n between each layer for it to dry.

For the shoulder I got the see through fabric with silver sequins and I am coloring the sequins with a gold Sharpie.

so that Is what I have so far hopefully this week I will be able to start the draping.. And start the sleeves (Which I am going to for pleat  If anyone has any ideas on the sewing or the props they would be greatly appreciated :)
