Undead is very Hot right now

So I stopped by Barnes and Nobles today to pick up the Eternal Kiss. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it had come out straight to paperback instead of hardcover. I rejoiced in the fact that I would still have some money in my bank account this week I took it home and immediately read Unded is very hot right now. I was expecting something amazing and something amazing I got.

I loved all of Sarah’s characters immensely, I believe Pez (the laidback drummer), Christian (the vampire) and Faye (the evil calculating manager) were my favorite. Although I also loved the geeky asthmatic Josh and annoying Bradley! All of her characters were real and different and interesting. They felt like they had layers. Even though it was a short story I got all her characters and have grown to love them. The fact that Sarah could develop such amazing characters in only 38 pages just shows how amazing she is.

On top of that we got to see some more of Sarah’s exceptionally funny humor. I laughed my way through the whole story. There were so many funny parts. I especially like Christian’s internal monologue. Here is one of my favorite quotes from the story.

“Faye clicked her fingers and her evil-twin assistant appeared, possibly out of the walls. Whenever Faye clicked her fingers it was as if she’d rubbed a magic lamp – her wishes were instantly granted. Christian had a theory that reality was scared of her too and so bent to her will.”

Not only was it funny but it had a deeper story to it. I would highly recommend this story to everyone.

Unfortunately I will not be able to read the rest of the book for a little while. My friend gave me some adult books to read and I have been putting them off for awhile. I just keep getting more and more books to read and shiny YA novels distract me! Their covers are so much prettier! So before I can finish the book I must read Neverwhere. I am not dreading the prospect of reading the book because I have read some of Neil’s Children’s books and have enjoyed them immensely. I have also heard that it has a similar setting to Garth Nix’s Keys to the kingdom series. Although I think I might finish Geektastic first (I started reading it in the car on the way home from comic con and I only have two more stories left to read!). Also do any of you have any suggestions for good adult books?

In other news my friends and I are designing steam punk outfits for comic con next year. Yvonne will be doing the designing, Kristin the pattern making. All of us will be doing our own sewing and Mike and Yvonne will be doing the metalwork. We are planning to go as a group from an airship. I will be the mechanic, my brother Steven a military general, Mike as the airship captain, and Yvonne and Kristin are undecided. We are still in the planning stages of the costuming, but I will keep you guys updated on our progress and post the pictures of the final designs.
